Projects and setup
Structure work by client, site, or business unit
Projects are the core unit of organization. Everything—budgets, contracts, expenses, income, exchange records, contracts, and optional workers—sits inside a project.
Recommended structure
- One project per client or site
- Separate projects for long-term engagements
- Separate projects when reporting must stay independent
Setup flow
- Create project
- Open project settings
- Add budget
- Add contracts (service or supply)
- Record expenses and income
- Add exchange records when multiple currencies are used
- Assign workers if the project uses the workers feature
Project dashboard areas
The project dashboard is divided into feature tabs:
- Overview
- Budget
- Income
- Expenses
- Contracts
- Exchange
- Workers (optional)
Each tab is its own working area and should be reviewed regularly.
Project settings
Project settings control:
- project name
- status
- description
- start and end dates
- optional features like the workers tab
Deleting projects
Delete a project only if it should be permanently removed.
If you only want to stop active work, set the project to Completed or On hold instead of deleting it.
Best practices
- Use consistent naming (Client + Site + Year)
- Keep contracts inside the correct project
- Review budgets weekly
- Review the overview tab weekly for net position and budget pressure
