Create and delete projects
Start a project cleanly and remove it safely when needed
Projects are the main operational containers in Brakzon Atlas.
How to create a project
Create a new project when you need a separate area for a client, site, campaign, branch, or business unit.
Recommended cases for a new project:
- one client with separate delivery scope
- one construction site
- one service engagement
- one internal business initiative
What to prepare before creation
Before creating the project, decide:
- project name
- description
- start date
- expected end date
- whether workers tracking is needed
Recommended naming examples
Client A - Baghdad SiteRetail Expansion - BasraMaintenance Contract - 2026
What to do after creation
After the project is created, open the dashboard and continue with:
- project settings
- budget setup
- income setup if needed
- expenses
- contracts
- exchange records if multiple currencies are used
- workers if labor tracking is required
When to create a separate project instead of reusing one
Create a new project if:
- the customer is different
- the budget must be reported separately
- expenses should not mix with another site
- contracts belong to a different delivery scope
Delete a project
Delete a project only when it should no longer exist in the system.
Deletion impact
Deletion permanently removes project-linked records.
This may include:
- budget items
- expenses
- contracts
- workers and related project records
Safe deletion checklist
Before deleting, confirm:
- reports were exported if necessary
- stakeholders no longer need the history
- the project was created by mistake or is no longer valid
- the team understands deletion is permanent
If you only want to stop using a project
If the project should stay in history, do not delete it.
Instead:
- change the status to Completed
- or change the status to On hold
That keeps historical reporting intact.
