Project budget tab
Plan project spending with structured budget lines
The Budget tab is where planned cost lines are created and reviewed.
What you can do
- add budget items
- review total budget
- find the top budget item
- filter budget records
- inspect the top budget items chart
Budget item purpose
A budget item represents expected spending for a category, scope item, or operational need.
Examples:
- materials
- labor reserve
- transportation
- subcontracting
- equipment rental
Why the budget tab matters
The budget is the planning side of project finance.
Use it to compare:
- what you expected to spend
- what you actually spent in expenses, workers, and contracts
Filters and analysis
The tab supports filters such as:
- date range
- currency
- search text
- minimum amount
- maximum amount
Use filters to isolate one part of the budget or one time window.
Best practice
Create budget lines early in the project and review them regularly against the Overview and Expenses tabs.
